Job Description
Job Purpose
To provide high-quality care and support to residents in a safe, respectful, and person-centred manner. The Support Worker will assist individuals with their daily living activities, promote independence, and enhance their quality of life within a residential care setting.
Key Responsibilities
Care & Support Duties:
Support residents with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting, grooming) in a dignified and respectful way.
Assist with mobility, positioning, and moving in line with safe handling procedures.
Help residents with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration needs.
Support residents to engage in social, recreational, and community activities.
Monitor and record residents’ wellbeing, promptly reporting any concerns or changes to senior staff.
Emotional & Social Support:
Build positive relationships with residents, their families, and colleagues.
Promote residents’ independence, choice, and rights at all times.
Offer companionship and emotional support to residents.
Record Keeping & Compliance:
Maintain accurate records in line with organisational policies and regulatory requirements.
Follow care plans, risk assessments, and health & safety protocols.
Adhere to safeguarding procedures, ensuring the safety and welfare of residents.
Personal Attributes
Compassionate and respectful.
Flexible and adaptable to residents’ needs.
Committed to continuous personal and professional development.
Additional Information
This role will require shift work, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
An enhanced DBS check (or equivalent) will be required prior to employment.
Full training and ongoing support will be provided.

Requirements
- Essential:
- Genuine passion for caring for and supporting others.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Reliability, empathy, and patience.
- Basic IT and record-keeping skills.
- Desirable:
- Previous experience in a care or support role.
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards).
- Knowledge of safeguarding, health & safety, and manual handling procedure
