Job Description

Job Purpose
The General Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients in accordance with established clinical guidelines, organisational policies, and the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) standards. The role involves assessing patient needs, developing and implementing care plans, administering treatments, and monitoring patient progress to promote recovery and maintain health.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties:
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualised care plans.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely and accurately.
Monitor and record patients’ vital signs, symptoms, and medical history.
Provide wound care, catheter care, IV therapy, and other nursing procedures as required.
Collaborate with doctors, allied health professionals, and other nursing staff to ensure coordinated care.

Patient Care & Advocacy:
Provide compassionate support, advice, and education to patients and their families.
Maintain patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
Act as a patient advocate, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed.
Record Keeping & Compliance:
Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records in line with legal and organisational requirements.
Adhere to infection prevention and control procedures.
Comply with all health and safety regulations and risk management policies.
Professional Development:
Keep up to date with current nursing practices and complete required training.
Participate in audits, clinical governance meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience
Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
Minimum 1 years of post-registration experience in a general nursing role (desirable).
Proven experience in clinical assessment, care planning, and patient care delivery.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Advanced Life Support preferred).
