Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated SEND Finance and Personal Budgets Officer to support the administration and management of personal budgets for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in London. The successful candidate will work closely with families, education teams, and finance departments to ensure transparent and effective management of personal budgets, fostering independence and choice for SEND service users.
Manage and administer personal budgets allocated to children and young people with SEND in line with statutory guidance and local policies
Process payments, authorise expenditure, and maintain accurate financial records related to personal budgets
Liaise with families, schools, and providers to support budget management and resolve any financial queries
Monitor budget spending to ensure compliance with agreed plans and financial regulations
Assist with financial reporting and provide regular updates to SEND management teams
Support families in understanding their personal budgets and signpost relevant financial advice or resources
Work collaboratively with SEND coordinators, social workers, and finance teams to ensure effective budget management
Contribute to the development and improvement of personal budget processes and documentation
Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection legislation.

Requirements
- Proven experience in finance administration, preferably within social care, education, or local government sectors
- Understanding of SEND legislation, personal budgets, and statutory frameworks is highly desirable
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage with families and professionals
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and financial management systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
